India bans Global Times' X-handle amid rising tensions
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, India has banned the Global Times handle after the Pahalgam terror attack. India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire, yet tensions have escalated significantly following the Pahalgam terror attack. Concurrently, India has banned the former handle of the Chinese newspaper Global Times due to its persistent publication of false news against India. This decision was made to address the misinformation being spread.
CCS meeting underway
The CCS meeting commenced at the Prime Minister's residence in Delhi on Wednesday, with potential discussions on the tense situation between India and Pakistan. Following this, a ministry meeting is also scheduled. Meanwhile, a ceasefire is in place between Pakistan and India. However, PM Modi has stated unequivocally that any discussions with Pakistan will focus solely on PoK and terrorism. In this context, Pakistan has indicated that unresolved issues regarding the Indus Water Treaty will be viewed as an Act of War.
In the meantime, BSF soldier PK Sahu has come back to India after accidentally crossing into Pakistan on April 23. He was subsequently detained by the Pakistani military. PK Sahu was freed after spending 21 days in custody.
