On Saturday, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut in the match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. Vaibhav played a brilliant innings of 34 runs in 20 balls and showed that if you have the skills, then age does not matter. On Sunday, another young player made his IPL debut. 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in a match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Mhatre enthralled everyone at the stadium with his debut. Seeing Ayush's batting, his younger cousin also had tears in his eyes.

Ayush joined CSK's Playing XI a few days ago. During the match against Mumbai, when Rachin Ravindra was dismissed in the fourth over, Mhatre, who came out to bat, hit a four and two sixes in the first three balls of his IPL career,  which also impressed CSK captain MS Dhoni.

Ayush was dismissed by Deepak Chahar after scoring 32 runs in 15 balls, but the confidence he showed in his first match impressed everyone. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings posted a video on their social media handles in which Mhatre's younger cousin was seen in tears. His younger brother Mhatre was very emotional watching him perform in such a big tournament at the age of 17 and could not stop his tears.

Talking about the match, Chennai batted first and gave the home team a target of 177 runs. Openers Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma started well to chase this target. Ryan was dismissed for 24 runs but Rohit Sharma remained not out till the end of the match and along with Suryakumar Yadav, led the team to victory in 16 overs. Rohit played an unbeaten innings of 76 runs in 45 balls which included 4 fours and 6 sixes, while Surya remained unbeaten on 68 runs off 30 balls.

The only wicket-taker for CSK was Ravindra Jadeja, who also made a significant contribution during the batting and shared a 79-run partnership with Shivam Dube. Both batsmen also scored half-centuries and brought the team to a good score. However, Mumbai achieved that goal easily.

With this win, Mumbai has reached the sixth position in the points table and their chances of reaching the playoffs are alive. Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings are at the bottom of the table with two wins from eight matches.
