PM Modi to speak at IATA's historic return to India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 81st annual meeting of IATA at Bharat Mandapam on Monday. More than 1,600 participants will attend the meeting, where issues such as air connectivity and sustainable aviation fuels will be discussed. The meeting is taking place in India after 42 years, which is important for the global aviation sector.
New Delhi: In line with his dedication to creating top-tier aviation infrastructure and improving connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the 81st Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association on Monday.
The gathering is scheduled for 5 pm at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister will deliver a speech. The annual IATA meeting and the World Air Transport Summit are taking place from June 1 to 3. The last time India hosted the IATA Annual Meeting was 42 years ago, in 1983.
The meeting is being attended by over 1,600 participants from around the globe, including prominent leaders from the international aviation sector, government officials from different nations, and representatives from the global media.
The World Air Transport Summit will address significant topics such as the economic aspects of the airline industry, air connectivity, energy security, the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), financing for decarbonisation, and innovation.
At the Summit, representatives from the international aviation industry will gain insights into the significant transformations within India's aviation sector and its role in socio-economic progress.
A day before, on May 31, Prime Minister Modi spoke at an event in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh's capital. He addressed women at the Women Empowerment Mahasammelan at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal. On May 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in events in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
