The process to obtain the card is straightforward, requiring only an Aadhaar card. Once the e-KYC is completed, the card can be downloaded within 24 to 48 hours.

The program was initiated on September 23, 2018, and is executed by the National Health Authority (NHA). It provides eligible individuals with cashless and paperless healthcare services. More than 30,000 designated hospitals nationwide are linked to this scheme and are authorized to offer treatments. The initiative covers the treatment of 1,961 conditions across 27 medical specialties, including serious illnesses such as cancer, heart surgeries, dialysis, and joint operations. Separate cards for every eligible elderly person

To benefit from this program, every eligible senior member of a family must apply individually. This means that if a family has multiple senior citizens, each must obtain their own Ayushman card. After the card is issued, it is completely associated with the individual's identity, allowing the patient to use it at any hospital nationwide.

How to get your Ayushman Vaya Vandana card made sitting at home

To make a card, first go to https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in website. Go to the "Am I Eligible" section there and complete the e-KYC process using your Aadhaar number. After this, if you are found eligible, you can download the card directly from the portal. The elderly will not have to visit any government office for this. Only with the help of Aadhaar card, this card can be made from mobile or laptop sitting at home.
