Illegal documents lead to detention of 121 Bangladeshis in Delhi
Delhi Police has detained 121 Bangladeshi nationals on the basis of illegal documents. DCP Nidhi Valsan said that the operation to target illegal foreign nationals in the capital is going on. The detenues were verified and handed over to FRRO. The deportation orders were issued after scrutiny of documents.
Efforts are underway to identify Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally throughout the nation. In a related development, the Delhi Police has apprehended 121 Bangladeshi nationals in north Delhi for allegedly holding unlawful documents, as part of its ongoing campaign against illegal immigrants.
DCP Outer North Nidhin Valsan mentioned that a significant operation is in progress to address illegal foreign nationals across the capital. These individuals were among a broader list of 831 suspected illegal residents.
Deportation orders issued
DCP Nidhin Valsan stated that numerous individuals have already been recognized. Last week, 121 people were detained. Following verification, these individuals were transferred to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). After examining their documents, their unlawful migration was confirmed, and deportation orders were issued. DCP Valsan mentioned that verifications are underway for the remaining individuals. Additionally, teams have been dispatched to West Bengal, as several of the detained individuals have connections there.
Case filed under several sections
A list containing 831 individuals has been prepared for verification. Additionally, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to investigate those who support these individuals. The SIT has interrogated five people responsible for arranging accommodation for them. Regarding this matter, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (336/2, 336/3, 342, and 61/2) and Sections 14 and 14C of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
