Mumbai Attack conspirator Tahawwur Rana undergoes 8-10 hours of NIA questioning daily
Tahawwur Rana, the mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks, is undergoing 8-10 hours of daily interrogation by NIA officials to uncover the broader conspiracy. A Delhi court has granted an 18-day custody for this investigation, and Rana is allowed medical check-ups and meetings with his lawyer.
Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is being interrogated by National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths for eight to ten hours daily to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the horrific attacks.
NIA officials are facilitating Rana's medical examination and permitting him to consult with his lawyer, according to official sources on Monday. This follows a Delhi court's order on Friday morning, which granted the agency an 18-day custody following his extradition from the US.
According to sources, NIA investigators are questioning Rana for 8-10 hours each day to investigate the broader conspiracy behind the heinous attack executed by the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2008. These attacks resulted in the deaths of 166 people and injuries to over 238 others. 'Rana has been cooperative during the interrogation,' a source mentioned. The interrogation is being conducted by a team of NIA officials headed by Chief Investigation Officer Jaya Roy, they added.
According to reports from the papers and Quran Maga sessions, Rana has requested only three items so far – a paper, a pen, and the Quran – all of which have been given to him. He mentioned that Rana has not made any particular requests concerning food and is being given the same meals as the other accused, following the standard protocol for such cases.
