Sheikh Hasina accused Muhammad Yunus of gaining power with the help of terrorist organisations and banning the Awami League. Hasina questioned who gave Yunus the right to touch the Constitution. Meanwhile, protests against the interim government in Bangladesh are growing, and the military has demanded general elections by December.
Bangladesh News: Bangladesh is currently experiencing political unrest. In the midst of this, ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has leveled grave accusations against Mohammad Yunus, the leader of the nation's interim government. She stated that Yunus has seized control with the assistance of terrorist organizations, alleging that he orchestrated the coup using extremist groups that are prohibited worldwide.
Media reports state that Sheikh Hasina mentioned in her Facebook post that Yunus has sought assistance from individuals previously apprehended for terrorist activities. "We had implemented numerous stringent measures to protect the country from these perilous individuals, but now Yunus has freed them all from prison. Today, Bangladesh is under the influence of the same people."
'Accused of insulting the Constitution'
She questioned how someone who has assumed power unlawfully could have the authority to alter the Constitution of our Bengali nation, which was meticulously crafted following a prolonged fight for independence. Additionally, she remarked that Yunus does not occupy any constitutional position, yet he asserts himself as the chief advisor.
'Awami League banned'
Sheikh Hasina further claimed that Mohammad Yunus had prohibited her political party, the Awami League. It is said that Yunus is stifling democratic expression in the nation and attempting to eradicate the opposition entirely.
Demand for removal of interim government intensifies
In Bangladesh, there is currently opposition to the interim government. Both the Sena and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are insisting that general elections take place by December this year. Meanwhile, Mohammad Yunus has stated that he will counter any pressure on him by mobilizing public support.
