In response to increased COVID-19 cases in Singapore and Hong Kong, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) held a review meeting with experts from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Emergency Medical Relief (EMR) Division, Disaster Management Cell, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and Central Government Hospitals, chaired by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS). According to the meeting, the COVID-19 situation in India is currently under control, with 257 active cases.
Corona cases in Singapore and Hong Kong
As per the increasing number of coronavirus cases, infections in Singapore and Hong Kong are generally mild and not linked with extraordinary severity or death rates. Furthermore, the expert review meeting determined that the COVID-19 situation in India is manageable. As of May 19, 2025, India has 257 active COVID-19 cases, with 95 in Kerala, 66 in Tamil Nadu, and 66 in Maharashtra.
