Vladimir Putin Home Drone Attack: To stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, Trump met with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for nearly three hours and said that they were very close to a deal. But now Russia has levelled a major accusation against Ukraine, claiming that Kyiv launched overnight drone attacks, targeting presidential residence in the Novgorod region of northwestern Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said that on the night of December 28-29, Kyiv regime carried out a terrorist attack on the Russian president’s official residence using 91 long-range strike drones.

All incoming drones were shot down by Russian armed forces’ air defence systems, and there have been no reports of casualties or damage from the drone debris. Lavrov emphasised that this attack was carried out amidst ongoing intensive Russia-U.S. negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine crisis. He warned that such reckless actions would be met with a response and confirmed that the Russian armed forces have identified targets for retaliatory strikes and determined the timing of these strikes.

Lavrov also stated that Moscow has no intention of withdrawing from the negotiation process with the United States. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied the accusation of an attack and called it another lie from the Russian Federation. He said that such claims are being made to justify Russian attacks on Ukraine, including attacks on the capital, as well as to justify Russia’s refusal to take the necessary steps to end the crisis.

Russia is at it again, using dangerous statements to undermine all the achievements of our shared diplomatic efforts with President Trump’s team. We continue working together to bring peace closer.

Following the attack, Trump reacted with anger, stating that the attack happened at a very bad time and that he was furious about the information because attacking someone’s home is wrong. However, Trump also said that the claim might be false. It is believed that if this claim is true, the war between Russia and Ukraine could take a decisive turn.
