US-Iran Peace Talks Failed: Peace talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad proved completely inconclusive. Pakistan attempted to mediate to prevent a war between the two countries, but this effort proved futile and left Pakistan in disrepute. Despite this, Pakistan is proud of its role and is not shying away from patting itself on the back. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude to the US and Iran for participating in the talks.

Following the peace talks, Ishaq Dar held a press conference and said that Pakistan was proud to host the talks. He said, “We thank Iran and the United States for hosting the peace talks in Islamabad. This is a positive step for stability not only in the Middle East, but throughout the world.”

The Pakistani Foreign Minister expressed hope that both sides would continue to reach ceasefire agreements in the future. He assured Pakistan of continued mediation for peace. He further stated that Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir played a key role in the entire peace process. “Asim Munir facilitated several rounds of ceasefire negotiations,” Dar said.
It should be noted that the US and Iran held 21 hours of talks in Islamabad. During this period, the two sides reached agreement on several key issues. However, negotiations regarding nuclear weapons and the Strait of Hormuz failed to reach a consensus.
