TikTok Deal 2025: US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order approving TikTok’s deal to operate in the US. While signing the order at the White House on Thursday, Trump said he had a very good conversation with President Xi, and he approved the deal. According to the executive order, TikTok’s US app will be operated by a “new joint venture established in the US”.

According to the US government order, TikTok’s US app will now be operated by a new US company. This company will be majority-owned and controlled by the American people. It will not be under the control of any foreign enemy country. Oracle, Silver Lake, and some other US investors will hold the majority stake in this new company. It was also said that TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance,e will hold less than a 20 per cent stake in this entity. US Vice President JD Vance announced that TikTok US will be valued at $14 billion.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance said, “We wanted to allow TikTok to operate, but we also wanted to ensure that American citizens’ data privacy is protected in accordance with the law. This agreement will allow Americans to use TikTok with greater confidence, as their data will be secure and will not be used as a propaganda tool.”

Vance also emphasised that American investors will retain control of TikTok’s algorithms. He said the deal ensures that an American company and American investors will truly control the algorithms. “We want to ensure that our people and our investors make decisions in the best interest of their businesses, not in the best interest of another government’s propaganda machinery.”
