Pakistan Launches New Attacks on Afghanistan: Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid stated that Pakistan has carried out fresh military attacks across several Afghan provinces, including Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, and Paktika. These attacks have resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children.

The Taliban has asserted that Pakistan’s attacks have escalated tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and has condemned these airstrikes as a violation of Afghan sovereignty.

Writing on the social media platform X, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid stated, “Continuing the pattern of previous aggressions, the Pakistani military has once again bombarded Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Paktika, and several other areas. In some locations, they targeted civilian homes, resulting in the deaths of women and children. In other instances, they targeted empty desert terrain and uninhabited regions.”

Condemning these attacks, Mujahid remarked, “Occurring during the final ten days of the holy month of Ramadan and on the very eve of Eid al-Fitr, this attack clearly demonstrates that they adhere to no humanitarian principles or moral values. We strongly condemn this assault, and it will be met with a response.”

Allegations of Setting Fuel Reserves Ablaze

Mujahid accused Pakistani military aircraft of setting fire to the fuel reserves of Kam Air—a private airline company—located near Kandahar International Airport. He stated, “This company provides fuel for both civilian aircraft and United Nations flights. They have previously set fire to the fuel depots of private traders as well.”

In recent days, Afghan officials reported that Taliban forces had killed 30 Pakistani soldiers during clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Inayatullah Khwarazmi, the spokesperson for the Taliban Ministry of Defence, confirmed that the fighting took place in the Shorabak district of Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, where Taliban fighters reportedly overran a Pakistani military outpost. Khwarazmi stated that Taliban forces captured a outpost during clashes and subsequently destroyed it using explosives. He claimed that 30 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the fighting, including 20 soldiers who had been deployed to reinforce the outpost.

He added that Taliban fighters seized five Pakistani military outposts in the Dand Patan district of Paktia and entered the Top Sar Khwuch Karam and Anjarki Sar posts.

How ​​the Conflict Began

The current hostilities commenced when Taliban-led Afghan forces launched retaliatory strikes against Pakistani military bases on February 27. This response followed Pakistan’s targeting of terrorists within Afghan territory on February 21. Following the attacks from Afghanistan, Pakistan launched ‘Operation Ghazab-e-Haq’ in response to alleged “unprovoked firing” by Afghan forces across several border areas.
