To tackle the energy crisis, the Pakistani government has decided to implement several restrictions across the country starting April 7. During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, it was decided that with the exception of Sindh markets, shops, and shopping malls nationwide would be closed by 8:00 PM.

An official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office states that this decision was taken on Monday during a meeting regarding petroleum products, presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to the directive, Pakistan has decided to close markets, shops, and shopping malls at 8:00 PM in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, the Islamabad Capital Territory, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. During this period, only medical stores and pharmacies have been granted an exemption.
Ban on Weddings After 10:00 PM

Additionally, the meeting decided that bakeries, restaurants, tandoors, and other eateries would close at 10:00 PM. Wedding halls, marquees, and other commercial venues hosting weddings will also remain closed after 10:00 PM. Furthermore, there will be a ban on organising wedding ceremonies within private homes after 10:00 PM.
