North Korea Cluster Missile: Following the temporary ceasefire agreement in the conflict involving Gulf nations, North Korea has been continuously strengthening its defence sector and has conducted tests of various missiles. North Korea has tested several new lethal weapons, stating that these trials included ballistic missiles equipped with cluster-bomb warheads. Additionally, efforts are underway to further enhance its nuclear strike capabilities. It is worth noting that Iran has also previously fired ballistic missiles equipped with cluster-bomb warheads against Gulf nations.

North Korea’s missile tests have caused alarm among neighbouring countries, prompting the issuance of alerts. North Korea reported that these exercises spanned three days and involved ballistic missiles, cluster warheads, anti-aircraft systems, and electromagnetic weapons, as well as carbon fibre bombs. Following the missile launches, South Korea reported that the projectiles flew for a maximum distance of 700 kilometres before falling into the sea.

In the wake of North Korea’s missile launches, the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office issued directives emphasising public safety and national preparedness. The office instructed officials to exert maximum effort in gathering and analysing intelligence in response to North Korea’s missile launches, and to ensure that accurate information is disseminated to the public in a timely manner. Furthermore, instructions were given to ensure the safety of aircraft, vessels, and other assets, and to implement all possible precautionary measures, including maintaining readiness for sudden contingencies.
