The Indian Embassy has stated that students, pilgrims, business people, and tourists should leave the country as soon as possible using available means of transport. The statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran says that this advisory is an extension of the advice issued by the Government of India on January 5, 2025.

The advisory states, “In view of the continuously evolving situation in Iran, Indian nationals are advised to leave Iran by any available means of transport, including commercial flights.” The Indian Embassy has also reiterated that all Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) in Iran should exercise utmost caution, stay away from any protests or crowded areas, and monitor local media for the latest updates on the prevailing situation.

The embassy has urged Indian citizens to keep all their travel and immigration documents – such as passports and identity cards – readily accessible at all times. They have also been advised to contact the Indian Embassy immediately if they require any assistance.
