Iran allows Indian Tankers: Reports indicate that at least two India‑flagged tankers, Pushpak and the Parimal, have successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, while vessels from the US, Europe, and Israel continue to encounter restrictions.

Iran has dismissed the claims that it permitted India-flagged tankers to sail from the Strait of Hormuz amid worsening global energy crisis. This denial follows reports that suggests that Tehran had extended significant relief to India after the talks between External Affairs Ministers S. Jaishankar and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, that aims to keep a critical shipping route open for crude oil and natural gas transport.

Earlier, reports claimed that two Indian tankers, named Pushpak and Parimal, had safely navigated from the Strait of Hormuz, while vessels from US, Europe and Israel continued to face restrictions in the vital waterway.

However, government maintains that there is no LPG shortage across the country and has ordered refineries to increase production. Output has been increased by approximately 10% to stabilise supplies. These supply concerns come amid disruptions in the global energy market due to tensions in West Asia, affecting fuel logistics and availability.

Liberian-flagged tanker carrying Saudi Arabian Crude, under command of an Indian Captain, successfully navigated from the Strait of Hormuz two days ago and currently has now docked at the Ports of Mumbai. This is the first tanker destined for India to pass safely through the impacted waterway since maritime traffic nearly came to affect by the tensions between US and Israel on Iran.

Earlier, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Naval Force that warned any tanker attempting to transit from Strait of Hormuz must obtain Tehran’s approval, or can face the risk of being targeted by the Iranian Forces.

US-Israeli Conflict against Iran has entered to its 13th day with no relaxation in sight, while significantly increasing the chances to outbreak of maritime traffic.

In response, situation are getting tightened through restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing US Israeli strikes. Tehran has clarified that vessels that are not aligned by the orders form the Irani officials aren’t allowed to sail from Strait of Hormuz.
