Indonesia Nursing Home Fire: A massive fire broke out at a nursing home in Manado, Indonesia. The fire started at approximately 8:36 PM at the Panti Werdha Damai nursing home in the Ranomut sub-district of the Pal Dua district. Three fire engines dispatched by the Manado city government arrived at the scene, and the fire was brought under control around 9:30 PM.

Local authorities reported that 16 people died in the fire at the nursing home in Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi province, and Indonesian police are working to identify the victims. According to the Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulut), Alamsyah P. Hasibuan, the victims’ bodies are being identified at the Bhayangkara Hospital of the North Sulawesi Regional Police. The identification process aims to establish the full identities of the victims before coordinating further with their families.

Upon receiving reports of the fire, local police officers immediately sprang into action to secure the area and assist in rescue efforts. Survivors were taken to Manado City Regional Hospital and Permata Bunda Hospital, while the deceased were transferred for further medical examination. Hasibuan stated that police forensic teams have launched an investigation, including examining the scene and interviewing witnesses, to determine the sequence of events and the initial cause of the fire.

Police officers immediately took action to secure the scene and assist in rescue efforts. Survivors of the accident were taken to Manado City Regional Hospital and Permata Bunda Hospital, while the deceased were transferred for further medical examination. The bodies are being identified so that they can be returned to their families.
