Indian Expats: An official transition is coming for the 4 million-strong Indian community in the United Arab Emirates, bringing a major upgrade to how they handle essential paperwork. Starting July 1, 2026, the Alhind Group will officially take over consular and passport services from long-time provider BLS International. Operating across all seven emirates, the new agency is promising to dramatically slash wait times and introduce clear, flat-fee pricing.
The most anticipated highlight of the rollout is a groundbreaking pilot program that will allow Indian expats to renew their passports without ever leaving their living rooms. With 16 centers currently being finalized and set to go live for testing by mid-June, managing consular errands in the UAE is about to get a whole lot easier.
Expanding the Footprint: Indian Expats 16 New Service Centers
To handle the massive volume of applications from one of the world’s largest expat populations, Alhind Group is establishing a robust physical presence across the UAE. The agency has finalized 16 distinct locations, ensuring that residents in every single emirate have convenient access to a physical branch.
According to Arun Radhakrishnan, Alhind’s Operations Manager in the UAE, the selected sites have already received formal approval from the Indian Embassy. While the exact addresses will be published in the coming days once the final administrative paperwork concludes, the rollout timeline is already locked in.

June 15, 2026: All 16 offices are scheduled to be fully functional, staff trained, and systems live for internal testing.

July 1, 2026: Full public launch of all consular and passport services.
Cutting Red Tape with Home Renewals and Flat Fees
The transition isn’t just a change of name at the door—it marks a fundamental shift toward convenience and transparency. Alhind Group is introducing two major changes designed to directly address long-standing pain points for expats:
1. Passport Renewal at Your Doorstep
For the first time in the UAE, a pilot program will be launched to offer home-based passport renewals. Instead of taking a day off work, navigating traffic, and waiting in lines at a center, expats can request a mobile service team to come directly to their residence or office to capture biometrics and process documentation.
2. Transparent, Flat-Fee Pricing
To eliminate confusion over hidden administrative costs and varying service tiers, Alhind is implementing a flat-fee pricing structure. Applicants will know exactly what the service costs upfront, ensuring a predictable and fair process across all types of applications.
Looking Ahead: This operational handover is expected to significantly ease the administrative burden on the Indian Embassy and Consulates, shifting high-volume data collection to modern, high-capacity centers optimized for speed.
Further details regarding the online booking portal, specialized hotlines, and the complete directory of the 16 new center locations are expected to be released by early June.
