Donald Trump’s Statement on Iran: After announcing a two-week ceasefire with Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that it is “a great day for world peace.” He remarked that Iran desired this outcome as well because “they have suffered heavy losses,” adding that Tehran can now commence the work of reconstruction. In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump affirmed that the United States would assist in facilitating the smooth movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that U.S. troops would “remain right there” to ensure that everything proceeds “properly.”
A Great Day for World Peace!

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “A great day for world peace! Iran wants this too; they have suffered greatly! And likewise, so has everyone else! The United States will assist in facilitating the smooth passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. There will be a great deal of positive activity there! A lot of money will be made.
Iran can now begin the process of reconstruction. We will deliver all necessary supplies there, and simply ‘be present’ to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly. I am fully confident that this will happen. Just as we are experiencing in the United States, this could prove to be a ‘Golden Age’ for the Middle East!”
Two-Week Ceasefire

It is worth noting that prior to this, Trump had stepped back from the brink of a major military confrontation with Iran; he announced a conditional two-week suspension of planned strikes aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz. This development brought immense relief to people across the globe. This decision came exactly 90 minutes before the deadline (8:00 PM EST) Trump himself had set for reaching an agreement with Iran. The decision was reached following diplomatic negotiations conducted behind the scenes (back-channel diplomacy).
Donald Trump’s Statement on Iran: Iran Is Weary – Trump

Trump wrote, “The reason for doing this is that we have already achieved all our military objectives indeed, we have surpassed them. Furthermore, we have made significant progress toward a concrete agreement aimed at maintaining long-term peace with Iran and establishing peace throughout the entire Middle East.” He further added that the United States had received a “10-point proposal from Iran,” which serves as a “viable basis for negotiations.” Trump stated that agreement has been reached on “almost all of the various points of previous disagreement,” and that this two-week pause will provide an opportunity to “finalise and complete” the agreement.
