2025 Grammys: Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars win best pop duo
According to Billboard, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars secured two additional Grammy Awards on Sunday night, winning Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their popular track 'Die With a Smile.' The pair celebrated their victory against strong contenders such as Beyonce and Post Malone, Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande with Brandy and Monica, and Billie Eilish with Charli XCX. In his acceptance speech, Mars conveyed his happiness and remarked, Gaga, it's a tremendous honor to collaborate with you on this song. I feel privileged to contribute even a small part to your incredible musical legacy. I genuinely believe that this song was a gift from God for us to perform together, so thank you very much.
Describing Mars as a 'wonderful person and timeless musician,' Gaga also conveyed an uplifting message for the LGBTQ+ community. 'It's a privilege to be a songwriter, producer, and musician. It's a great honor to perform for all of you. I want to emphasize tonight that trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be celebrated.'Music is love. Thank you," Gaga stated.
Earlier that evening, the duo performed the classic "California Dreamin'" by The Mamas and the Papas to pay tribute to the victims of the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires. Gaga also debuted her new song and video "Abracadabra" from her forthcoming album Mayhem during a commercial break.
Jennifer Lopez presented Shakira with the Best Latin Pop Album award for 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran'. The Colombian singer dedicated the accolade to the immigrant community in the country. Rising hip-hop star Doechii won her first Grammy, taking home Best Rap Album for her mixtape 'Alligator Bites Never Heal'.
Sabrina Carpenter won her first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for 'Short n' Sweet' on Sunday (Monday morning in India). At the same event, Chappell Roan was honored with the Best New Artist award. Beyonce became the first Black woman in fifty years to receive a Grammy in the country music category, making history.
