Strong Earthquake Jolts Nepal, Tremors Felt in India

On the Tuesday morning, Nepal was jolted by the earthquake of 7.1 magnitude. It struck at a depth of 93 km northeast of Lobuche in Nepal. Tremors were felt in Nepal along with some regions of Bihar, Sikkim, and parts of Bengal. As per the reports, around 95 people died and more than 100 people have been injured.

Strong tremors were felt in Tibet, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6.8 in Tibet. The earthquake struck Shivhar, Motihari and Samastipur districts of Bihar around 6.40 am, which lasted for about five seconds.

Strong Tremors of Earthquake

An earthquake of magnitude 7.1 can cause building collapse or major accidents. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake was recorded at 6:35 am, with its epicentre located at latitude 28.86 degrees north and longitude 87.51 degrees east at a depth of 10 kilometres. The location of the earthquake was identified as Xizang (Tibet Autonomous Region) near Nepal.
