Ukraine Delivers 500 Tons of Wheat Flour to Syria for Stability
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his support for Syria's efforts to overcome the effects of decades of dictatorial rule and restore stability and also highlighted the assistance of 500 tons of wheat flour for Syria's recovery.
"We support the Syrian people in overcoming decades of dictatorial rule and restoring stability, security and normalcy in Syria", said Zelensky.
After the visit of Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiha to Damascus, Zelensky shared a post on X and said that on my instructions, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine @Andrii_Sybiha visited Damascus with the Minister of Agriculture Policy and Food @vkoval8.
The Ukrainian delegation held important talks with the Syrian administration, leader Ahmed al-Shara and ministers.
Highlighting Ukraine's ongoing efforts to assist in Syria's recovery and improve relations between the two countries, he affirmed, that the first 500 tons of Ukrainian wheat flour are planned to arrive tomorrow, as we promised. There will be more deliveries, as well as more mutually beneficial cooperation across multiple sectors.
We really value the opportunity to restore normal and stable life in Syria and stand ready to develop a long-term, strategic relationship. I hope that Ministers Sibiha and Koval will provide me with their reports on the results of the trip upon their return to Ukraine.
