We are protesting because what we have seen is what has been going on in Bangladesh since August 3, 2024," he said, adding, "We want Bangladesh to stop killing minorities." We want Bangladesh to stop killing Hindus, stop burning places of worship, stop raping women, stop kidnapping women. And we want peace in Bangladesh. "

Atrocities on Hindus and other Minorities

There have been several attacks on Hindus and other minorities by extremist elements in Bangladesh. There have also been cases of arson and looting of houses of minorities and vandalism and desecration of deities and temples. Massive protests erupted in Chittagong on October 25 following the arrest of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das on charges of sedition. Another Hindu temple on the outskirts of Dhaka was reportedly set on fire. The Mahabhagya Laxminarayan temple in Dhor village, north of Dhaka, was also attacked.
