North Korean leader Kim Jong-un supervised a demonstration test of a suicide attack drone and emphasized the urgent need for its mass production, according to a report by Yonhap news agency on Friday, citing North Korea's state media. The report indicated that these drones, with varying ranges, are designed to precisely target both land and sea objectives. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported the day before that Kim offered on-site guidance for the tests of several types of suicide attack drones produced by an affiliated institute of the unmanned aerial technology complex and related companies.

Yonhap news agency reported that KCNA stated, 'The suicide attack drones, designed for various striking ranges, will execute missions to precisely hit any enemy targets on land and at sea.' According to the agency, Kim Jong-un expressed satisfaction with the new drones, highlighting their crucial role in modern warfare and noting that drones 'have become an essential necessity in the military field today.'

Kim emphasized that the Workers' Party of Korea has recently prioritized the integration of unmanned military systems with operational plans and stressed the urgency of establishing a serial production system and transitioning to large-scale mass production. North Korea first showcased a test of a suicide attack drone in August, which Kim personally observed.
