Putin India Visit: Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in India today, December 4, for a two-day visit. Strict security arrangements are in place in the national capital, Delhi, for the occasion. India’s capital is fully prepared to welcome the Russian President. The friendship between India and Russia is long-standing. Putin will arrive in Delhi around 6 PM for his two-day visit. Prime Minister Modi will host a private dinner in his honour.

The main purpose of Putin’s visit is to strengthen strategic and economic partnership between India and Russia. This visit comes at a time when India’s relations with the United States are experiencing a downturn. Let’s take a look at the complete schedule of Putin’s two-day visit to India.

Putin India Visit: What will be Putin’s schedule in India?

1. Expected to arrive in Delhi around 6:30 PM
It is being reported that Putin’s IL-96 jetliner will land at 4:30 PM. However, some reports suggest a 6:30 PM arrival time. Strict security arrangements are in place for Putin’s arrival. The capital city of Delhi is under a five-layer security cordon. Delhi Police, central agencies, and Putin’s personal security teams will be monitoring everything. In addition, SWAT teams and anti-terror squads will be deployed on the streets.

2. Putin’s private dinner with friend Modi
President Putin will arrive in Delhi in the evening. He will then meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, where a dinner has also been arranged in his honour. This dinner is expected to be informal, giving both leaders an opportunity to speak freely before the summit.

3. Guard of Honour to be given
The next day, December 5th, President Putin will be welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan (the Presidential Palace) at 9:00 AM. President Droupadi Murmu will meet with Putin, where he will also be accorded a tri-service Guard of Honour.

4. Will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat
Afterward, Putin will visit Rajghat. There, he will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He will lay flowers at Gandhi’s memorial and offer a message of peace. This is a tradition followed by every foreign dignitary visiting India.

5. 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit at Hyderabad House
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Modi and President Putin will hold the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit at Hyderabad House. Bilateral talks will take place, first in a one-on-one meeting and then with their respective delegations. Announcements and agreements are expected in several areas, including defence, energy, trade, technology, space, and strategic cooperation. The two leaders will also issue a joint statement after their discussions.

6. Addressing the India-Russia Business Forum
In the evening, both leaders will address the India-Russia Business Forum at Bharat Mandapam, focusing on trade, manufacturing, and technology. Russia Today channel will open its bureau in India, employing 100 people.

7. State Banquet
Following this, President Droupadi Murmu will host a state banquet in honour of President Putin. After his approximately 30-hour visit to India, President Putin will depart at 9:30 PM.
