Bangladesh Hindu Killing: Incidents of violence against religious minorities, particularly the Hindu community, are continuously increasing in Bangladesh. According to local media reports, two Hindus were murdered in separate incidents within a span of just 24 hours.
Narsingdi Violence: 40-year-old businessman murdered

The first incident took place in Narsingdi district, near Dhaka. There, 40-year-old Sarat Chakraborty Mani was brutally murdered on Monday night. He reportedly owned a grocery store in Charsindur market in Palash Upazila of Narsingdi.
According to local residents and eyewitnesses, as reported by the Bangladeshi weekly magazine Blitz, unidentified assailants suddenly attacked him with sharp weapons on Monday night. He was seriously injured in the attack and died while being taken to the hospital. It is alleged that a radical religious group may be behind the attack.
Bangladesh Hindu Killing: Murder of journalist Rana Pratap Bairagi

The second incident occurred in Monirampur sub-district of Jessore district in the southwestern part of the country. There, 38-year-old Hindu businessman Rana Pratap Bairagi was publicly shot dead. Rana Pratap Bairagi owned an ice factory in Kapalia market and was also the executive editor of the Bangladeshi newspaper ‘Dainik BD Khabor’, published from Narail.
According to a report in the Bangladeshi Bengali daily Prothom Alo, three assailants arrived on a motorcycle around 5:45 PM on Monday. They called Rana out of his factory, took him to a nearby alley, and shot him in the head at close range. The perpetrators then fled the scene.
Monirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Rajiullah Khan confirmed the incident, stating that the body had been recovered and sent to Jessore Hospital for post-mortem examination. He said that the motive behind the murder is not yet clear, the suspects are being identified, and legal proceedings are underway.
Bangladesh Violence: Several deadly attacks on the Hindu community

These two murders follow several other deadly attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh. On Saturday, a Hindu man named Khokan Chandra Das was lynched by a mob in Damudya sub-district of Shariatpur district. Last week, 40-year-old Bajendra Biswas was shot dead in Bhaluka sub-district of Mymensingh district.
Additionally, on December 24, news emerged of the alleged lynching of 29-year-old Amrit Mandal by a mob. On December 18, 25-year-old Dipu Chandra Das was killed by a mob on false blasphemy charges; his body was then hanged from a tree and set on fire.
