As Prasada surged ahead, former Minister Hemraj Verma, dressed in a white kurta-pajama, was allegedly pushed from behind by Gurubhag Singh, the husband of the district panchayat chairperson, who was wearing a yellow jacket, in an attempt to overtake him. Hemraj Verma fell to the ground twice before being helped up by Kabaddi coach Nishant Pratap Singh and Majhola’s chairman. The former minister sustained minor injuries.
The video of the incident is rapidly going viral, and opposition leaders are using it to ridicule the BJP, pointing to apparent infighting among the party’s district leaders. Critics claim that the ruling party, disconnected from public concerns, is more focused on undermining its own members than serving the people.
