Lalitha is reported to play a central role in an extortion operation involving honey trap, which was uncovered by Karimnagar police officials in late January 2026. According to the reports she and her husband allegedly targeted more than 100 men through social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook.

According to police officials, Lalitha allegedly contacted victims online and persuaded them for meeting at a rental apartment, where hidden camera were reported to be installed for recording their private moments. These recordings were used against men involved and to extort large sum of money, while threatening the victims that footage would be made public if they did not pay.

Despite widespread controversy, there is no verification for Lalitha’s viral video available. Authorities have confirmed that all recordings were linked to the Karimnagar case, from where smart phones and electronic devices were seized during the investigation. All these equipment are being analysed as forensic evidence.

Some of these links mimic through popular apps like Instagram or Facebook to steal login credentials, while other users click on download files such as Lalitha_Viral.apk which are actually spyware. These malicious files can access your banking information, read your messages and can collect personal photos.

Police and cyber-security officials advise avoiding to click on such links, as there is no authenticity and interacting with these sites or files could lead to financial loss, account breaches and data loss-age.
