Burlington, a prominent discount retailer, is set to significantly expand its presence across the United States with the opening of more than two dozen new stores throughout May. This expansion will add to its already substantial footprint, which currently comprises over 1,000 locations nationwide.
The company previously announced plans in March to open 110 net new stores and establish a new distribution center in Savannah, Georgia, within its fiscal year 2026, which concludes on January 30, 2027. As of the end of the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2025, Burlington operated 1,212 stores spread across 46 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
The store openings are scheduled to commence on May 8 with four new locations: Santa Clarita, California; Columbus, Ohio; and two additional stores in Kent and Longview, Washington. A larger wave of openings is planned for May 15, with a dozen new stores slated to open their doors. The following week, on May 22, three more stores will launch in Manteca, California; Katy, Texas; and Jersey City, New Jersey. To conclude the month, Burlington will open an additional seven stores.
In parallel with its retail expansion, Burlington recently broke ground on a new distribution center in Buckeye, Arizona, near Phoenix. This facility is projected to span nearly 2 million square feet and is anticipated to be operational in 2028, further supporting the company’s growth initiatives.
