NDTV journalist attacked: Delhi Police arrested two men on Friday on suspicion of following a female journalist as she was on the way to home from her office in Noida. According to the police, this happened at approximately 12:45 a.m. on the Mahamaya Flyover. The accused were identified as Shubham and Deepak, both are residents of Dabri.
The men forcefully attempted to signal her to stop, and when she ignored them, they chased her car and allegedly threw a large object at her car during the pursuit, breaking the car’s window.

Delhi Police said, “The journalist overtook scooter, and its riders started to pursue her in attempt of confronting her.” “As she drove to a safer location, instead of stopping, she demonstrated courage and presence of mind.”
Both of the accused Shubham and Deepak, are the residents of Dabri. The two are presently under the investigation by the Delhi police and are being questioned.
NDTV journalist attacked: How Delhi Police Captured the Accused
According to the Delhi police, the NDTV journalist chose a secure spot close to the Lajpat Nagar Flyover at 1.27 a.m. and then she called the emergency helpline. Delhi Police stated that the Local Police team arrived at the caller’s location at the earliest within a matter of some minutes to help the journalist and make sure that she was safe.
Police filed FIR after NDTV journalist complained, and further investigation was started to find the culprit. “Multiple Teams from the police station of Sun light Colony, Special Staff, and AATS were deployed to identify and locate the suspects, as per the officials.”
Information was collected from the Local Sources and CCTV footage from the route and surrounding areas was thoroughly examined.
Both of the accused were detained and accused within a short period. And investigation portrayed that they were also involved previously in a case under the Arms Act (FIR NO. 44/2025, Police Station Dabri),” they Added.
Taxi Drivers Come To the Rescue
As the journalist arrived at the Ashram place, she called the police, and share her location. At the Lajpat Nagar, a group of taxi drivers immediately saw that she seemed to be in danger and distress.
According to the NDTV journalist Journalist, “she asked for help from the Cab drivers and they told her to park the car aside near the Gupta Market in Lajpat Nagar and at that point the two men on their scooter had left.”
DCP Hemant Tiwari said, “The prompt action taken by the police of the PCR unit, effective coordination and focused investigation particularly in the late night hours, reflects the commitment of the Police to ensure women’s safety. Hereby, Delhi police appeals to women to dial 112 in case of any suspicious activity and any distress.
