Gujarat Sabarmati Express Stabbed: The victim is identified as Jigar kumar Chaudhary, who boarded the train at Firozpur in Punjab and was travelling to Sabarmati, 27-year-old who was killed on the Jammu tawi-Sabarmati express on Sunday night while the train was passing from the Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. Incident took place around 11pm near lunkaransar station.

Officials stated that Chaudhary got into argument with a few train attendants while sitting arrangements. Soon, the dispute was changed into violence, and one of of the attendant attacked him with a knife, leading to deep wounds inflicting in his chest and abdomen area. The entire coach was covered with blood, hereby, the soldier was collapsed. Passengers informed the authorities at the Bikaner station. Chaudhary was immediately taken to prince Bijay singh Memorial (PBM) Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on his arrival.

Railway Police and Government Railway Police have recovered a suspected knife from the sleeper coach and questioned several attendants. As per GRP officer, the statement from different passengers present on the spot is being recorded and detained attendants are interrogated. Forensic team has sealed the coach and FSL team started inspection of the coach after the train reached to Jodhpur station.

According to the officials the post-mortem will be conducted once the victim’s family and the Army representative arrive at Bikaner. Police is investigating on the incident and to determine the exact motive behind the attack.
