Ghaziabad Crime News: According to the Police, the teenager girl was under the treatment of depression from past several years.
On Wednesday, The Ghaziabad police arrested a 21-year old man for allegedly raping his 17-year-old cousin and pushing her off the terrace of her house on the night of October 20 near the area of Niwari police station. Police said that due to the fall the girl suffered from several head injuries and required hospitalisation.
Now, she has been discharged and is stable. According to the police the accused is a college (undergraduate) student, while the victim studies in class 12. The teenager is had undergone with treatment for depression from past years several years and reported that she had been sexually assaulted by the accused since the age of nine.
Ghaziabad Crime News: How the Incident Happened?
Police said that, “The 21-year old-man alleged of threatening her against revealing the assaults to anyone, and this resulted her to suffer from depression for the past six to seven years, her treatment was undergoing from the hospitals of Delhi and Meerut. Most of the time during her treatment she remained to be quiet, and withdrawn, “said by victim’s father at Niwari police station.
As per the statement of Amit Saxena assistant commissioner of police Modinagar, the accused visited the girl’s home on Diwali night and called her at the terrace, where he assaulted her. When she resisted, he pushed the girl off the roof and fled. The minor girl fell on the stairs and got sustained head injuries. Then, victim’s family rushed her to the hospital, and later learnt that the minor girl was sexually assaulted. At first, they were hesitating to approach police fearing of social stigma and also because the accused was their family member but later, decided to file a complaint.

Police registered a case under section 65(2), 131 (assault or criminal force), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and 115(2) violently causing hurt according to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with the provisions of the protection of children from sexual offences (POSCO) Act.
According to the police, girl was constantly depressed over past couple of years, and the family took to several hospitals for treatment where she told the counsellors about the sexual abuse since childhood. The girl did not revealed about abuse to her family, but they came to know from counsellors. Victim’s family tried to prevent the accused from visiting their house, but continued to find excuses to come.
Due to the latest incident, the cousin arrested in ghaziabad him on 29th October and produced him before a court, with the remand in judicial custody, as per Saxena.
According to the police, the investigators said that the girl’s medical examination has been conducted and her statement were recorded before the magistrate. The accused is the resident of Madhuban Bapudham, also resulted a previous case of voluntarily causing harm was registered at Kavi Nagar police station.
Ghaziabad Police stated that accused has been remanded to judicial custody and further investigations are into this case and the survivors is under medical and psychological support. According to the authorities strict action will be taken on the result of findings.
