WhatsApp New Feature: A great update is being rolled out for WhatsApp users. The Meta-owned app is now introducing a feature that allows you to leave a voice or video message immediately if your call goes unanswered. This change aims to make the calling experience easier and more convenient.
WhatsApp New Feature: Option to send voice message immediately on Missed Calls
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has added a new option to the call screen. If you call someone and they don’t answer, a “Record Voice Message” button will appear on the screen. Tapping this button allows you to record a short audio note, which will be automatically sent to that person’s chat along with the missed call notification. This feature is especially useful in situations where you have something important to convey quickly and typing it out would take too much time.

Not just for voice calls, WhatsApp has introduced a similar option for video calls as well. If your video call is missed, you can record a short video message directly from the call interface. This visual message helps the other person understand why you called. This makes the conversation more personal and effective.
WhatsApp New Update: New call tab design
WhatsApp has also completely redesigned its call tab. The new “Call Hub” now organises all call-related features in one place.
From here, you can easily:-
- View your contacts
- Create new groups
- Manage your favourite contacts
- Start calls directly
Users can initiate group calls with up to 31 people or one-on-one calls from this new section. The new layout is cleaner, faster, and more intuitive than the old one.
Now you can schedule calls
This update adds another useful feature: call scheduling. You can now pre-plan when you want to make a voice or video call. Scheduled calls can be shared in the chat, and all participants receive a reminder at the scheduled time.
This feature is especially useful for:-
- Team meetings
- Group discussions
- Scheduled family gatherings and similar activities.
Update will gradually reach all users
This update is already available on the App Store for iPhone users. The company is rolling it out to users worldwide in phases. WhatsApp says they are monitoring the performance of this update to ensure it is fully stable before releasing it to everyone. With these new features, WhatsApp aims to provide users with a fast, simple, and convenient calling and communication experience without any hassle.
