Kia Smallest Electric SUV: Kia has officially launched its new electric car, the EV2. This vehicle is considered to be the most affordable model in the company’s global electric vehicle lineup. The EV2 is a compact urban SUV, designed specifically with the objective of making affordable electric mobility accessible to the widest possible audience.

This car marks the sixth electric vehicle built upon Kia’s advanced E-GMP platform. In the international market, its starting price has been set at approximately €26,600, which translates to roughly ₹23 to ₹24 lakh in India.

  • In terms of features, the EV2 comes equipped with a Harman Kardon audio system,
  • Digital Key 2.0, and advanced charging technologies such as V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid).
  • This car will be available in both 4-seater and 5-seater configurations. In the 4-seater version, the rear seats can slide and recline, offering enhanced comfort for passengers.
  • This version offers a boot space of up to 403 litres.
  • Meanwhile, the 5-seater version provides a boot space of 362 litres. Additionally, both variants feature a 15-litre front storage compartment (frunk).

Battery, Range, and Charging

The EV2 offers two battery options. The base model is equipped with a 42.2 kWh LFP battery, which delivers a range of approximately 317 kilometres according to WLTP standards.
The long-range version, on the other hand, features a 61.0 kWh NMC battery capable of travelling up to 448 kilometres on a single full charge.
Both battery options support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Standard Version of the EV2

The standard version of the EV2 is scheduled to enter production in the first quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, the long-range and GT-Line versions are planned for launch in June 2026. However, the company has not yet clarified whether this car will be launched in India or not.
