Record Sales in India: Honda dominates two-wheeler segment
Honda has dominated the two-wheeler segment in India, achieving record sales with a 42% market share, led by its Activa scooty. The rising demand for EV scooters has significantly contributed to this growth, with TVS and Yamaha also making notable gains.
India has reached unprecedented sales in the two-wheeler category. The growing interest in electric scooters and the introduction of new scooter models have attracted customers, resulting in approximately 6.853 million two-wheeler units sold by March 2025.
Honda's Activa scooter, the leading manufacturer in this segment, holds the highest market share at 42 percent. TVS ranks second in terms of market share. In third and fourth positions, Yamaha and Ather Scooter Company each have an 11 percent share in electric vehicle two-wheeler sales.
Honda's sales have consistently risen in the year 2025, resulting in the sale of 2.84 million scooters. Honda has secured the top position. The best-selling models from Honda include the Activa 6G, 5G, Activa 125, Dio 110, and Dio 125.
TVS secured second place
TVS has achieved the second rank following Honda. TVS has sold 1.83 million scooters, marking a 25 percent increase compared to the year 2024. TVS's leading scooters include the Jupiter 110, Jupiter 125, and Ntorq 125 Zest models. In the electric vehicle segment, approximately 273,000 units of the I-CUBE scooter have been sold.
HERO's poor performance
Scooter maker HERO has experienced a downturn, with a 2 percent drop from the previous year. HERO's leading scooters are the XOOM 125, XOOM 160, and DESTINI 125. Let us know that a total of 3.33 lakh units of all these scooters have been sold. At the same time, Suzuki has shown better performance. Suzuki Motorcycle India has sold 10.24 lakh scooters with a growth of 15 percent.
