Elon Musk to launch Tesla EVs in India; Showrooms in Delhi, Mumbai

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is preparing to introduce Tesla in India. Recently, Tesla posted a job advertisement for recruitment in the country, and soon, Musk is expected to launch Tesla's cars in the Indian market.

Tesla plans to open showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi, India, with vehicles expected to launch at an initial price of Rs 21 lakh. These cars will be manufactured at the Berlin plant in Germany and introduced to the Indian market.

3 More Y-model cars may be launched

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, might introduce three additional Y model cars in India, although these cars will be priced higher. Tesla's showroom is set to open in Delhi's Aerocity, with a second showroom anticipated to open in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex.

The Indian government has reduced the tariff rate for Tesla to enter the Indian market. Previously, there was a 100 percent tariff on imported vehicles, but now the government has lowered the tariff rate to 70 percent.

There is a belief that Tesla might establish a manufacturing unit in India. Prior to this, Tesla could purchase parts worth crores from India itself. Additionally, the government has reduced import duties, but this reduction is contingent upon setting up a manufacturing unit worth approximately 50 crores in India.
