Toyota to Launch Affordable 7-Seater Hyryder SUV in India
Toyota recently launched its new generation premium sedan, the Camry in India. Now the brand plans to bring a 7-seater SUV to the country and it will be powered by petrol and hybrid powertrains. Now you might think it will be a Fortuner hybrid! But that's not the case, rather it will be more affordable than the Innova Hycross. The affordable 7-seater SUV from Toyota is a 7-seater version of the Hyryder. It is speculated that Maruti will soon launch a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara SUV.
Toyota is expected to launch the Hyryder 7-seater version right after Maruti in India. But when will it be launched? Currently, Maruti is all set to unveil its first EV, the e-Vitara in the country, soon after its launch the brand will launch the 7-seater Grand Vitara model.
Toyota is expected to launch the 7-seater Hyryder after Maruti unveils the larger version of the Grand Vitara in 2025. Design-wise, the Toyota 7-seater Hyryder will be the same as the current model, but will have a longer wheelbase and length to accommodate the extra row of seats.
Expected to be taller than the current model to increase head room for third-row passengers. Just like the exterior, expect the larger model to be identical to its 5-seater version on the inside. However, the brand might offer features like AC vents, cup holders, USB ports for charging, and more, especially for third-row passengers.
Additionally, the brand could also include the ADAS suite to provide maximum protection, although it is still not on the cards, with more information expected to be released in the coming time. Coming to the powertrain, the 7-seater version of the hyryder will be mechanically identical to its 5-seater version. Currently, this model is powered by a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and a strong hybrid setup. Although it is too early to predict, it is expected that the new model will come with a marginal hike of around Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh from its current price.
