Apple to Release iPad Pro with M5 Chip by End of 2025
Apple's next iPad Pro series, set to launch in the latter half of 2025, will feature the company's next-generation M5 chip.
According to GSM Arena, the new silicon in the iPad Pro is expected to provide significant performance improvements, continuing Apple's tradition of using its proprietary chips in its devices.
Mass production of the new iPads is set to start in the second half of 2025, aligning with Apple's usual product release cycle, where major iPad Pro updates are often launched approximately every 18 months.
As a result, the new iPad Pro may be released later than initially anticipated, particularly given that previous iPad Pro models with the M4 chip were launched in May 2024.
The M5 chip will succeed the M4 in the current iPad Pro model, offering significant gains in both processing power and energy efficiency.
Apple has been incorporating its proprietary silicon into the majority of its product lines in recent years, aiming to deliver similar performance improvements as seen with the transition from Intel to its M1 and M2 chips, in upcoming M5 MacBooks and other devices.
According to GSM Arena, Apple is expected to stick to its usual release pattern for iPads, which is roughly every 18 months. This means that although the M4-powered iPad Pro is set to launch in early 2024, the next version won’t arrive until over a year later.
The release of the next model is anticipated for late 2025, aligning with the second half of Apple's fiscal year, as the company typically launches major products in this period to boost sales before the year's end.
