Zomato Introduces New Scheme Offering Cheaper Food
Zomato Cancel Order Scheme
Food delivery company Zomato has brought a new scheme for users. Under this, the canceled order will be delivered by the company at a lower price. The company says that this scheme has been introduced to reduce the waste of food due to order cancelations. Called Food Rescue, the scheme allows users to receive canceled orders from nearby restaurants at affordable prices for a limited period of time. According to the company, customers will get orders in a short time and in untampered packaging. The important thing is that only a few selected food products will come into this service. It will not include ice cream, shakes, etc.
Zomato's Food Rescue Feature
Zomato has announced in a blog post that recently canceled orders will be visible on the app to customers coming within 3 kilometers of the delivery partner. Orders will only be available to customers claiming for a few minutes. Real customers (who have ordered and canceled) as well as people around them will not be able to find that respective order. If the canceled order has already been paid online, the payment amount will be shared by the new customer with him and the restaurant partner. The company has said that the platform will only keep the necessary government tax from the charge.
99.9% Restaurant Partners Want to Sign Up with Zomato
According to the company, 99.9% of its restaurant partners want to sign up for this scheme. Along with food rescue, they will also be given compensation for canceled orders. A small portion of the amount paid by that customer is also going to be received. Apart from this, delivery partners will also get full compensation for the entire journey.
How to Identify Real and Genuine Customers ?
To prevent misuse of the scheme, the genuine customer will have to pay a cancelation charge for canceling the order, which is fixed at 100% of the total amount. The company has said that goods that are spoiled by distance or temperature, such as ice cream, shakes, smoothies and other perishable goods, will not be seen in this feature. At the same time, customers who prefer vegetarian food will not see non-vegetarian orders.
