Rajasthan launches 15-Day 'Vande Gange' water conservation drive

The campaign, which started on World Environment Day, will continue till June 20, in which awareness will be spread through various activities for water conservation. Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, has initiated the 'Vande Gange' campaign across the state to tackle the water crisis. Commencing today, coinciding with World Environment Day and Ganga Dussehra, the campaign will run until June 20, featuring comprehensive water conservation activities led by various state departments.

These efforts aim to raise public awareness about the significance of conserving water. To ensure the campaign's success, ministers have been assigned responsibilities in all 41 districts.

On June 5, the campaign's inaugural day, all departments will engage in activities such as cleanliness drives in nurseries, distributing Tulsi plants, pledging to reduce plastic usage, shramdaan, cleaning and repairing water sources, Vande Ganga Kalash Yatra, and rituals for rivers, dams, and lakes, along with preparations for plantation under Hariyalo Rajasthan.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will plant saplings at Jamwa Ramgarh in Jaipur and take part in voluntary service at Ramgarh dam near Mori. Following this, he will deliver a speech at a state-level workshop held at the Rajasthan International Center (RIC) on World Environment Day.

After his speech, he will join the Vande Ganga Jal Pujan, Chunari Mahotsav, and Kalash Pujan at Keshoraipatan. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects as part of the Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan 2.1. Additionally, he will pray at the Keshav Rai temple. In the evening, he will arrive in Bharatpur and perform special prayers at the Ganga temple.
