Yogi Govt transfers 5 IPS Officers, New roles announced
The Yogi government has transferred 5 IPS officers in UP. Dinesh Kumar P has been relieved for central deputation. Sanjeev Tyagi has been made DIG of Basti Range. Shivasimmip Chanappa has been made DIG of Gorakhpur, while Anand Kulkarni has been given the responsibility of Technical Services Headquarters.
The Yogi administration in Uttar Pradesh has initiated a series of transfers. Five police officers from the Uttar Pradesh cadre have been moved to the Indian Police Service (IPS). Among these, one officer has been released for central deputation.
Media reports indicate that Dinesh Kumar P, an IPS officer from the 2009 batch, has been released for central deputation, having previously served as DIG of Basti range. Meanwhile, Sanjeev Tyagi, an IPS officer from the 2010 batch, has been assigned the role of DIG for the Basti Range.
Shivasimmip Chanappa, an IPS officer from the 2009 batch, has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of the Gorakhpur Range. Meanwhile, Anand Suresh Rao Kulkarni, a 2008 batch IPS officer stationed in the Gorakhpur area, has been assigned to the Technical Services Headquarters. Shivhari Meena, a 2010 batch IPS officer, is set to take on the role of Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in the Varanasi Police Commissionerate.
Who is Dinesh Kumar P?
Dinesh Kumar P was appointed as the DIG of Basti Zone in December 2024. He is currently being considered for central deputation, where he is expected to take on significant responsibilities. Born in Salem, Tamil Nadu, Dinesh Kumar became an IPS officer in 2011 and was promoted to DIG in 2023. He has been honored with the DG Commendation Disc Silver in 2019, DG Commendation Disc Gold in 2020, and DG Commendation Disc Platinum in 2024.
