Currently, the construction of three chariots for the upcoming Rath Yatra is advancing swiftly at a temporary workshop in Srinagar.

Following the completion of 36 wheels under the chief chariot builder's guidance, work has commenced on 14 Nahka Chaupata, a section of the chariot. The construction of all three chariots is proceeding at a similar pace. The main chariot builder and their team are collaborating to ensure the timely completion of the chariot construction. Each part of the chariot is being meticulously crafted.

The construction of the final two wheels for each chariot is currently in progress. The Singara, a component of the wheel, has been finished. The process of securing the pie (axle) is ongoing. The Pi Yog (axle connection) work is planned for Sunday. The chaupata (structure) of Bhui Chowta (a part of the chariot's base) is completed, and the marking for Bindha (a component of the chariot's construction) has been done. Work on 14 Nahaka (a part of the chariot's structure) has also started.

The Roopakars, known for their wood carving skills, are focused on the detailed carvings for a section of the chariot. Meanwhile, the assistants are occupied with constructing the Danda Bidiya fork, an integral part of the chariot's framework. The chariot's construction is overseen by seasoned Maharnas and Sevayats, who are diligently working to ensure the Rath is completed in time for the Rath Yatra. Balram Mohapatra, involved in the chariot construction, remarked, 'The work on the 42 chakra wheels is nearing completion, as is the interior work of the chariot. We are dedicated to serving Lord Jagannath and are delighted by it.'
