West Bengal Board 12th Exam Results: Rupayan Paul tops, 90.79% Pass
The West Bengal Board declared the results of the 12th exam 2025, in which 90.79% of the students were successful. Rupayan Paul topped the exam with 99.4% marks. Out of a total of 4,73,919 students, 4,30,286 passed. Boys performed better than girls.
On Wednesday, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced the 2025 12th board exam results. During a press conference in Kolkata, the board president shared details about the pass percentage, top scorers, and district-wise performance. This year, 4,73,919 students took the exam, and 4,30,286 passed, resulting in an overall pass rate of 90.79%, slightly higher than last year's 90%. Boys achieved a pass percentage of 92.38%, while girls had a pass rate of 88.18%. The results indicate improved student performance, with Rupayan Paul achieving the highest marks in the state, scoring 99.4%.

Rupayan Paul tops the list, 72 students in top 10
This year, a total of 72 students have made it to the top 10 of the 12th examination, who have excelled in various streams. Students have registered balanced success in all three streams of science, commerce and arts. Rupayan Paul secured the first position in the entire state by scoring 99.4% marks, which has created a buzz in the education world.
District-wise protest: Purba Medinipur and North 24 Parganas ahead
Some districts of the state have performed particularly well. Purba Medinipur recorded the best result with a pass percentage of 95.74%. It was followed by North 24 Parganas with 93.53% and Kolkata with 93.43%. The continuous success of these districts has once again proved that serious work is being done there in the field of education.
Boys outperform, improvement over last year
This time there has been an improvement in the results compared to the previous year. In 2024, the overall pass percentage was 89%, while this time it has increased to 90.79%. Interestingly, the girl students were ahead last time, but this time the boys have outperformed with 92.38% pass percentage. Education experts believe that precise strategy and regular practice have contributed to this change.
