Murshidabad in West Bengal is engulfed in violence. Numerous violent incidents are being reported in the state as protests against the Waqf Bill escalate. The call for President's rule is growing stronger amid the rising unrest in Bengal. In the violence-stricken Murshidabad district, a man and his son were viciously killed.

Following the murder, the police have apprehended one of the primary suspects. This marks the fourth arrest related to the double homicide in Jafrabad, Shamsherganj, according to a senior police official. The individual taken into custody has been identified as Ziaul Sheikh, a resident of Sulitala Purbapara village near Jafrabad.

Shaikh was apprehended by the Special Task Force (STF) and Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the West Bengal Police at his hideout in Chopra, North Dinajpur district, on Saturday. He is one of the primary suspects accused of conspiring and inciting the mob to vandalize and destroy the homes of Hargobindo Das and his son Chandan Das on April 12, according to the officer.

The police are actively addressing the violence in West Bengal. To date, they have arrested over 300 individuals and filed FIRs against more than 100 people related to the Murshidabad violence. Before these arrests, the police intensified their efforts against Dildar, Kalu Nadar, and Imam-ul-Haq, who have been detained on murder charges.
