The Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Amanatullah Khan for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The action was taken after a video surfaced showing the AAP leader moving around his constituency, Okhla, with his supporters after the official campaigning period had ended.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South East Delhi took to X and made the announcement, "FIR No. 95/25 has been registered at Jamia Nagar Police Station against Amanatullah Khan under sections 223/3/5 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 126 Representation of the People (RP) Act for violation of the MCC.

In the meantime, voting for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi has started today morning with polling stations opening from 7:00 AM and to continue until 6:00 PM under high security measures, as officials report today.

AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal also yesterday made serious allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Delhi Police accusing it of favoring BJP that is abetting misbehavior for AAP. Kejriwal took to social media to air his grievances against the ECI and Delhi Police, stating that they were working actively to scuttle the elections in favor of the BJP. He further added that their focus was on indulging in hooliganism, protecting BJP's actions, and facilitating the distribution of liquor and money. This came after a case was filed against AAP candidate Atishi for MCC violation.

As per the DCP South East Delhi, Atishi along with 50-70 people and 10 vehicles was present at Fateh Singh Marg after the permitted campaign period. Even though the police had asked them to disperse, a complaint by the Flying Squad Team (FST) resulted in a case being registered under Section 223 BNS and Section 126 RP Act at Govindpuri Police Station. Further, DCP reported another case of AAP workers Ashmit and Sagar Mehta allegedly resisting and beating Head Constable Kaushal Pal while recording a gathering at Baba Fateh Singh Marg, Govindpuri. Due to this, FIR No. 106/25 has been registered under Sections 221/132/121(1)/3(5) BNS against the above persons at Govindpuri Police Station for resistance to public servant and beating of an officer in discharge of duty. Further probe is going on in the matter.
