The 'Amrit Snan' has started on the day of Basant Panchami in Mahakumbh today. Officials said that till 4 am on Monday, over 16.5 lakh devotees took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, marking the beginning of the third 'Amrit Snan' on the occasion of Basant Panchami. The holy bathing ritual, which began with Naga sadhus taking a dip at the ghats, is part of the ongoing MahaKumbh 2025 in Prayagraj.

34 crore devotees have taken a holy dip
The Mahakumbh administration said that the Amrit bath was started on the ghats by Naga sadhus. With faith and devotion, the banks of Triveni are witnessing ancient Indian culture and traditions. According to the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, since the commencement of the Maha Kumbh Mela on January 13 till February 3, more than 34 crore devotees have participated in the holy bathing ritual. At the same time, the number of Kalpvasis has crossed 10 lakhs.

A large number of devotees gathered in Prayagraj on the occasion of 'Basant Panchami' to take a holy dip in the river Ganga and offer prayers to Goddess Saraswati. A huge crowd of devotees was seen at Prayagraj Junction. Talking about the preparations for Amrit Snan today, Additional Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi said that today the procession of Mahanirvani Akhara and Shri Shambhu Panchayat Atal Akhara is moving towards Sangam Ghat. Proper arrangements have been made for the safety of the devotees. Police personnel also offered prayers during the saints and Nagas heading towards Triveni Sangam for Amrit Snan on the occasion of Basant Panchami.
