Haryana to add 5 New Districts, Total to reach 27
The Haryana cabinet sub-committee, led by Panchayat and Development Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, will evaluate the creation of new districts, tehsils, and sub-tehsils in the state. To address this, a cabinet sub-committee meeting has been scheduled for February 4.
Today marks the conclusion of campaigning in Delhi, prompting the return of Haryana ministers. The Cabinet Sub-Committee intends to start the process of creating new districts in the state shortly after their return from the Delhi Assembly election campaign. Currently, Haryana consists of 22 districts. It is anticipated that five new districts will be established, namely Hansi, Dabwali, Assandh, Gohana, and Safiddon.
Although there is a demand to designate Manesar as a new district, the cabinet sub-committee has not yet received an official written proposal.
Meanwhile, Nayab Singh Saini, the Chief Minister of Haryana, stated on Saturday that the Union Budget for 2025-26 will enhance the nation's development and establish a solid foundation for a 'Developed India,' in addition to making Haryana self-sufficient.
“The budget has been crafted to support every segment of society. Haryana will also gain significant advantages from the budget's allocations, which will contribute to the state's ongoing progress and development,” the chief minister further said.
The budget presented by the Finance Minister features several important announcements for farmers, including an increase in the loan limit on the Kisan Credit Card from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
Moreover, 100 districts with low agricultural output will be given priority under the Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana. Being an agriculture-centric state, Haryana will significantly benefit from this budget. This is an important move towards enhancing the living conditions of farmers and bolstering the agricultural sector.
