Chhattisgarh: Over 20 Naxalites surrender amid Anti-Naxal Campaign
In Chhattisgarh, 29 Naxalites of Kutul Kshetra Samiti surrendered before Narayanpur SP Prabhat Kumar. According to officials, the surrendered Naxals comprise 22 men and seven women. This development work is leading to a noticeable social change.
The officials said, "We are conducting a movement against Naxalism, which includes effective campaigns and development projects. In the Kutul area, we are observing social changes due to these efforts. Individuals previously engaged in Naxal activities are surrendering. Today, 29 people who were actively involved in Naxal activities have surrendered."
Previously, security forces seized a Maoist training camp located in the heart of PLGA Battalion No. 01 within the dense forests of Bhattiguda in Bijapur district. The camp had been deserted by the Maoists who escaped during a military search operation. On Tuesday, security personnel from CoBRA units 201, 204, and 210 conducted a joint operation, during which they raided the camps and destroyed the Naxal Martyrs Memorial.
The Naxalite training camp featured tall trees, trenches, and various other resources designed for training purposes. It also included permanent barracks and huts utilized by the Maoists.
The authorities described the operation as a significant blow to Maoist activities in the area and a move towards dismantling their infrastructure. The security forces reiterated their dedication to maintaining peace and stability in the region. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the accomplishments of the security forces in addressing the Maoist issue and reiterated the government's dedication to eradicating Naxalism in the state.
