Fog Disrupts Flights at Delhi IGI Airport, Orange Alert Issued

Passengers Advised to Check Flight Status Amid Fog Disruptions
Published on

The snowfall in the mountains has further increased the cold in the plains. In Delhi, the temperature has fallen following the rains, and visibility has decreased because of the fog.

The Meteorological Department reported that Delhi's minimum temperature was 8 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature reached 19 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has released an orange alert today because of thick fog. Several flights were delayed at Delhi airport because of reduced visibility caused by the fog.

Advisory issued by Delhi Airport

Poor visibility has caused delays in flight operations at Delhi International Airport. The international airport informed passengers that flights not equipped with CAT III technology might experience disruptions. Please reach out to the airline for flight information.

Air quality in Delhi shows improvement

Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) decreased to 302 from the 'severe+' levels exceeding 400 recorded earlier this week, now classified as 'very poor'.

This enhancement is credited to favorable weather conditions, such as rainfall and improved wind speed. However, measures under GRAP Phases I, II, and III will continue to be enforced to avert any further decline in air quality.
