Heroin, Glock Pistol Found in Suspected Drone Drop in Punjab
Couple of Packets were Successfully Retrieved From a Field
The Punjab Frontier of the Border Security Force on Sunday recovered a Glock pistol, a magazine and suspected heroin weighing 548 grams from a field in Ferozepur district, the BSF said in a release. Acting on intelligence provided by BSF's intelligence branch about the presence of a suspicious object near the border area of Ferozepur district, the BSF conducted a meticulous search operation at the identified location. During a search operation at around 09:00 hrs, BSF troopers successfully recovered two packets from a field near Tendi Wala village in Ferozepur district. One packet contained a Glock pistol with a magazine while the other contained suspected heroin weighing 548 grams.
Drone's Movement was Halted by BSF Personnel
The BSF said the two packets, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and attached to iron hooks, indicate a possible case of drone drop. In a post on X, the BSF said, "In an intelligence-led, well-planned action, BSF personnel intercepted the movement of a drone and later recovered two packets. One packet contained a Glock pistol with a magazine while the other contained heroin weighing 548 grams. The seizure was made near Tendi Wala village in Ferozepur district of Punjab. An iron hook attached to the consignment indicates that it was delivered by a Pakistani drone.
These recoveries underline the BSF's unwavering commitment to combating cross-border smuggling operations, the BSF said in a release. By intercepting Pakistani drones carrying heroin or weapons consignments, the BSF continues to thwart the desperate attempts of smugglers and protect national security.
